Colorizer
Turn an existing, hard-coded design into a variable-bound one — without rebuilding it.
What it does
Most real work isn’t a blank file — it’s a legacy page or component built with flat hex fills. Wiring variables in by hand means selecting every layer and assigning tokens one at a time.
Colorizer does that pass for you: it scans the selected page or element, matches each color to the closest shade, tint, or alpha in your RTC system, and assigns the matching reactive variable.
After a quick review pass, the selection is fully variable-bound and works with the rest of the workflow — swatches, APCA, Token Commander.
How to use it
- Select the page or element you want to convert.
- Open Colorizer in Inked Colibri.
- Run it — colors get mapped to reactive variables.
- Fix any mismatched assignments, then continue with swatches, APCA, or token work.
When to use it
| Situation | Use |
|---|---|
| Design already exists with hard-coded hex | Colorizer |
| Starting a palette from scratch | Generate Your Color System |
Evolving feature
Colorizer is newer than the rest of the color tools. Treat this as current behavior — details may tighten as it matures.
FAQ
No. Generation builds the RTC system from base roles or a Realtime Colors URL. Colorizer retrofits an existing hard-coded design onto that system.
